Heritage improvements 

KIM regularly work on heritage projects with their clients and have a deep knowledge of retrofitting, maintaining and improving listed buildings. We have excellent working relationships with heritage experts and conservation officers across the local planning authorities we work in.  
80% of the existing UK housing stock needs upgrading to improve its energy performance. The challenges of improving listed buildings can be considerable but we help our clients to navigate the process.  
KIM have delivered a number of barn conversions for clients including private clients, local estates and landowners. Whether listed or not we understand the problem solving that is needed once on site and working with older building structures.  
 
KIM have an experienced team of tradesmen including stonemasons and joiners who understand the attention to detailed needed when working on heritage buildings. 

Barn conversion to deliver two new homes - Olney 

KIM worked with the client's architect and design team to deliver two family homes including new plumbing and heating systems, external alterations and the restoration and re-use of the existing structural beams. 
 
Our joiners created bespoke cabinetry and installed brand new kitchens and utility fit outs as well as bespoke stair cases across two storeys. The roof space included exposed timber structure and plastering detail to ensure the heritage features were visible.  
 
The properties included new bathrooms and finishes throughout as well as different heating systems designed to suite the occupants' lifestyles. The client was heavily involved with the procurement of finishes and went on to deliver the external landscaping scheme after the contract works were completed.  

Renovation and conversion of listed building - Castle Ashby 

KIM have delivered a number of projects for Compton Estates including this conversion of an old farmhouse to create holiday and guest accommodation.  
 
The scope of works included a new plumbing and heating system, roof insulation, electrical installation and drainage improvements. The project included working with the Estate's interior designer to deliver an exceptionally high standard of fixtures and finishes.  

The Old Vicarage - Olney 

Having had a number of false starts with both designers and contractors, our client was relieved to be introduced to KIM's team of experienced tradesmen and office team. The Old Vicarage had been purchased in an extremely dilapidated state and the works included external repairs and renewal as well as a full internal refurbishment.  
 
KIM worked with the client's design team to deliver a high standard of finishes including solid stone tiling, wall panelling throughout and bespoke kitchen and joinery.
